This is the 3rd album from Sue Borowski's Steel Clover project. This is a collection of Scottish and Irish songs spanning the range from poet and writer Robert Burns ('Scots Wha Hae', 'Ae Fond Kiss', and 'A Red Red Rose') to songs from more contemporary artists such as Paul McCartney's 'Mull of Kintyre'. Many of the songs, though traditional, have been rearranged in Sue's own inimitable style. She is also joined by a friend and collaborator, talented whistle player Bob Pegritz on 'Loch Lomond', 'Dunmore Lassies', 'Fields of Athenry', and 'Calliope'. Also included is her original composition 'Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots' which tells the haunting tale of her final day. The inspiring anthem 'Highland Cathedral' is traditionally done on pipes and drums; but Sue performs it with pipe organ, guitar, violin and vocals. There is the whimsical story of 'Harbour Lecou', a song about a married sailor caught pursuing a pretty young lady popularized by Great Big Sea. The closing song is 'Home', written by Jimmy Keane and most notably performed by Sean Keane. It's a song about thoughts of home through the eyes of a reminiscing traveler. It will no doubt bring back fond memories to it's listeners. This CD has something for everybody.- Copyright © Vintage Vinyl
