Vinyl LP pressing. Solitude Standing is the critically acclaimed sophomore album from Suzanne Vega. Released in 1987, it was a story of songs in which some of them had been written as far back as 1978. Singles like 'Tom's Diner' and 'Luka' were major hits for the artist and her development as a singer shone through. The album reached #11 on the US Billboard Top 200, with 'Luka' reaching #3 on the Hot 100. "Tom's Diner" was originally an a cappella version on Vega's album, which was then remade in 1990 as a dance track produced by the British dance production team DNA.
