Brooks Williams kicked off the Crawley Blues Festival in November 2010 with a rockin' set of blues and originals. This EP-length CD captures all the locomotion of that train a-rollin' with his voice soaring above high-energy riffs and down-home grooves. Evenly divided between resonator guitar and six-string acoustic, this set includes some of his most-requested songs: Statesboro Blues, Weepin' Willow Blues, Walk You Off My Mind, Frank Delandry, Amazing Grace, and the tender classic, Louis Collins. Brooks Williams is rated one of the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists of all time, and has been wowing audiences worldwide for nearly 24-years, delivering the deepest and most intense interpretations of everything from early blues songs to his recent original compositions. The San Antonio Light calls him "a fret monster who has to be seen to be believed!" Brooks Williams, born in Statesboro, Georgia (USA), the town put on the map by Blind Willie McTell in his song, Statesboro Blues, currently resides in England and tours worldwide throughout the year. There's something of the thick humid air and the deep red clay of the southern US states that informs Williams' music, but equally there is the sharp edge of East Texas' guitar blues, the funky grooves of New Orleans and Memphis, and the cool chord changes of Boston and New York's rich jazzy tradition that shine through. One of the most diverse artists on the roots music scene, Williams can amalgamate these styles into one, unique sound that brings it all together. His extensive discography, 18 CDs to date, is only rivaled by the number of venues he has played in his 25-year (and counting!) career. From Dallas to London, Istanbul to Boston, Belfast to Toronto, and Detroit to Nairobi, there have been thousands of miles on the road and countless shows. Appearances include Salt Lake City's Rock And Blues Festival, Toronto's Guitar Stars, England's Glastonbury Festival, Newport's Folk Festival and Birmingham's International Jazz and Blues Festival. His stunning 2010 recording Baby O! Features standard blues alongside original songs. It has been played on BBC Radio Two, CBC (Canada), National Public Radio (US), RTE (IRE), and has been featured in Maverick, Rock N' Reel, Acoustic, and been lauded by the likes of Scotland On Sunday, The Irish News and Ctrl Alt Country (Belgium), fRoots, and Blues Matters. A musician of staggering depth and breath, with an easy-going vocal delivery, groove-laden songs, and monstrous guitar chops, Blues In The Northwest says: "Definitely one of the best things I have heard this year!" Blues Matters proffers "...classy, tasteful, bright and hugely enjoyable!"
