Stan Kenton's number seven in the Concerts in Miniature is taken from radio broadcasts in 1953 and features the Stan Kenton band with Bill Russo as arranger. This was a smoking group that included Lee Konitz, Frank Rosalino, Bill Holman, Stan Levey, and a trumpet section featuring Conte Candoli, Buddy Childers, and Maynard Ferguson. Sound quality is not perfect, as can be expected, but the performances are top-notch throughout.
