This collection of never-before-released tracks from the beautiful outdoor Waikiki Shell in Honolulu and the Santa CMonica Civic Auditorium straddles Tjader's two idioms like a proverbial bridge, the first six tracks are in a mainstream jazz vein, with bop alternating with standard ballads and blues, while the last four venture into Afro-Cuban country.
